We are all either locked-up in our homes, need to pivot in order to keep our businesses going or cannot see our families and loved ones due to the Coronavirus. What was unthinkable only a month ago has become reality.
I invited Susie Moore as my guest on this week’s episode because by overcoming obstacles when she was growing up, she now looks at that time as a gift and a training for resilience and being able to handle whatever comes up next – even a crisis like the one we are dealing with now.
Susie grew up surrounded by a dysfunctional family, her father suffered from an addiction and they lived off welfare. She left the UK and moved to New York where she started a career in advertising. But by the time she was 30, she felt this wasn’t her life’s work.
Susie says that the most important thing you can give to a reader or a viewer is your value and your message. Following her own advice, she started working in media without having any qualifications and ended up contributing to publications like Marie Claire and eventually Oprah magazine. Today, she works as a life coach and advice columnist.
On this episode of the Sigrun Show, she shares tips and methods that got her through difficult times and gave her confidence and a sense of steadiness. She talks about the current situation, how it affects people differently and what they can do, plus shares her personal story of how she made it in the media world.
If you want some great advice on what you can do to be productive or how you can contribute during this crisis, this interview with Susie is for you.
We also discuss her recently released book “Stop Checking Your Likes” in which she tells personal stories intended to give confidence to people with similar experiences, and writes about how the most powerful thing we have control of is having a self-directed mind.
Whether you want to learn what you can do to not just let this time pass by, or always wanted to stop worrying about what other people might think of you, this episode will help you.
